The Reference 4

The Grado Reference4 is the flagship of the Timbre Series, housed in American Osage wood and delivering the highest level of performance within the series. It pairs a nude Shibata diamond with a machined boron cantilever — a significant upgrade over the elliptical profiles used in other Timbre models — improving groove contact, tracking, and detail retrieval. Built around Grado’s patented flux-bridger moving iron design, the Reference4 uses a 6N OCC copper internal signal path with cryogenic treatment and internal damping. Detail is resolved with precision while maintaining a smooth and composed top end, with natural midrange presence and defined, authoritative low frequencies.
